In the 1970's I worked as a carpenter with a local contractor in West
Hartford. I worked on sheds, room additions, finish carpentry, drywall
installation , vinyl siding, roofing and more.
I have 3 years experience in architectural drafting, and competed in the Home Builders Assoc. home design competition in 1977. The competition included
design, drawing and model building of an 1800 square foot home.
I then began a 25 year telecommunications career that included positions
as technician, supervisor and manager. I finished my telecommunications
career as a senior project manager responsible for over $100 million in projects
as far away as Seattle and Portland.
During my telecommunications career I did not leave my "trades" roots
far behind. I completed many projects on my own home including electrical
and plumbing upgrades, vinyl siding, roofing, window replacement, furnace upgrade and air
conditioning installation, just to name a few.
I began my career as a home inspector in 2004. I am trained by the
Home Inspector Institute of America and Inspection Training
Associates. I
am currently a member of Connecticut Association of Home Inspectors (CAHI) and
have been awarded a lifetime certification from the Home Inspector
Institute of America. Cedar Hill Home Inspection is a member of the Granby and Simsbury
Chambers of Commerce, Simsbury COC Board of Directors. I am chairman of the
Simsbury Chamber of Commerce Home Improvement Show.
My community involvement began as a certified youth soccer coach in Simsbury,
culminating with a State championship in 2002. I also coached varsity basketball at
St. Mary School in Simsbury. I served 3 years as a member of the St. Mary
School Advisory Board. I am on the board of directors of the Friends of Simsbury
Crew, and a member of the Simsbury Historical Society.
